10 Environment variables
************************

The `units' programs uses the following environment variables.

`LOCALE'
     Specifies the locale.  The default is `en_US'.  Sections of the
     units database are specific to certain locales.

`PAGER'
     Specifies the pager to use for help and for displaying the
     conformable units.  The help function browses the units database
     and calls the pager using the `+nn' syntax for specifying a line
     number.  The default pager is `more', but `less', `emacs', or `vi'
     are possible alternatives.

`UNITSFILE'
     Specifies the units database file to use (instead of the default).
     This will be overridden by the `-f' option.  Note that you can only
     specify a single units database using this environment variable.
