My research interests lie in string theory and its geometrical description. String theory is a candidate for a theory that describes gravity at high energies, unifies particles and unifies interactions. This is a quantum theory of gravity: it conjugates aspects of quantum field theory and general relativity in a consistent way. If string theory is a valid framework for fundamental processes, then its low-energy predictions must be consistent with established results from particle physics. In particular, we should be able to derive the Standard Model, or supersymmetric  extensions thereof. Setting up phenomenological viable string models is one of the main goals of model building. My research is devoted to this issue.
