AdS/CFT
AdS/CFT is a duality which tells us that if we calculate a quantity at the boundary of the d dimensional gravity theory, we obtain the same result in the d-1 dimensional field theory on the boundary. It was conjectured in '97 by J. Maldacena and verified on numbers of examples in the following years.
Gravity
One of the most interesting forces in nature for which we still haven’t found a mediator is gravity. Currently accepted theory of gravity is Einstein theory, however it contains issues (it is two loop non-renormalizable). In order to resolve them, scientists investigate higher derivative theories of gravity, higher spin gravities, and number of various generalizations.
Higher spin theory
In the early 20-th century Majorana made a first step proposing a field equation with infinite tower of higher spin particles. It took coupling of first spin 3/2 particles, discovering supergravity, overcoming no-go theorems, until the first consistent models of interacting higher spin fields appeared. They resolve some problems that appear in gravity, however most of them are still toy models. The general interacting higher spin theory on curved background is still not known.
Black Holes
We are currently in the golden era in which experiments are offering us more and more data about black holes. The experiments have not yet reached such precision to allow us to test all desirable models that modify Einstein gravity, however it is an incredible scientific step to have an image of something that was hundred years ago only a dispute, and it is located 50 million light years away.
Dark matter
This is the field in which I have started my research by studying extensions of Standard Model (SM) with discrete symmetry groups.
