The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN probes our theoretical models of the physics beyond the Standard Model. Ultimately experiments will decide which theory best explains our world. The LHC is expected to shed light on fundamental questions such as 'Is there supersymmetry?' and 'Are there extra dimensions?' and thus addresses some of the properties of string theory.
